When can I pick up my number?
Please collect your race number and chip between 8am and 9:30am on race day from Race HQ on Singlers Marsh.
Can someone else pick up my number for me?
Yes! But transfers are not allowed after 5pm on Sunday 21st June 2020; both parties would need to email the race organisers to transfer a place.
Can I bring my dog to run with me?
Sorry humans only.
Can I wear an iPod/mp3 player/headphones
No, for safety reasons please do not wear any kind of audio equipment whilst running, or you will be disqualified; this includes bone conductor headphones.
When I entered online my race number was “NULL”, is this ok?
Yes, this is fine, race numbers will be allocated nearer the time.
When will I get a race pack?
Runners will not receive a race pack. Entrants must collect their number and race chip at registration on race day from between 8am and 9.30am.
Will there be entries on the day?
There will be no entries on the day for the 10km or 20.20km races.
There is no registration for the ‘Junior Dash’, so you can just decide on the day.
Is there a time cut off?
Runners are expected to finish the 10k by 12noon.
Those taking part in the 20.20km event should commence the second lap not later than 11.30am; if you choose to continue on the 20.20km route after the cut off, the race organisers are unable to guarantee that the course will be fully marshalled or supported. Should you find that conditions beat you on the day you would have the option, at the cut off point, to finish the event and complete the 10km distance.
Are there showers?
Sorry no, but there are plenty of toilets on site and in response to race feedback we have provided a disabled toilet and urinals to try and cut those inevitable pre-race loo queues.
I’m not a very experienced runner, can I take part?
Yes, the more the merrier! And if you do need any help or support with training then www.gardencityrunners.org.uk are very happy to help out
What are the age limits?
All competitors must be over the age of 15 on race day to compete in the Welwyn 10k, and over 17 to compete in the 20.20km event.
There is no restriction on the ‘Junior Dash’ but we would ask that under 4s are accompanied.
Will you be taking photographs of the event?
Yes! Links will be provided to the photos after the event, both on the website and on social media. Participants in all events should be mindful that the event will be photographed, and while not specifically taking photographs of children, the race organiser cannot guarantee that images of the event in the public space will not be published by third parties on social media platforms.
Where are the previous results?
Where should I park?
We would encourage you to walk, run and cycle to the event where possible, and if using a car we would encourage you to car share. Parking will be available in the field next to the start, and will be clearly signposted. Whilst the parking is free, the Scouts who will be marshalling this area will be collecting donations.
Will there be refreshments?
Yes! Once you have had your post race water and banana, we’d encourage you to visit our popular refreshment tent. Please bring some spare change to buy teas, coffees, soft drinks and plenty of cakes, including some home made treats.
